Constant criticism and micromanagement aren’t effective methods of leadership. While they might be successful in keeping subordinates in line and under your thumb, this “style” of “management” does nothing but cause high stress and burnout while destroying productivity and morale. This need for control and recognition of control is often driven by insecurity. Leveling complaints without offering guidance, direction, or actionable feedback will just send the team scurrying in circles trying to guess what it is they should be doing next. While strong leaders empower their team, a micromanager will slowly chip away at their team’s motivation.

After putting up with their supervisor’s micromanaging for long enough, this worker decided to take a stand against their supervisor. Their boss had been leveling constant, nitpicking criticism against them, exerting their authority while offering no solutions to the problems they were calling out. When the complaints turned to their attire, despite the fact that the worker maintained a satisfactory level of dress, like a Marvel hero, they decided to suit up, but couldn’t have possibly imagined that doing so would directly solve their problem. Their new attire caught the attention of the office, and when word got back to the CEO, why they were dressed so well, their supervisor was soon facing justice.

As it turns out, some people aren’t well suited to leadership roles.
