Marks & Spencer customer, Leah Watki, tasted every single flavour of M&S Percy Pigs and has shared her verdict on the popular sweets – with four varieties standing out
A shopper shared her findings after sampling every single variety of Marks & Spencer’s iconic Percy Pig sweets.
The iconic confectionery first appeared on the retailer’s shelves in 1992, but was pulled five years down the line. Fortunately, the treats made a comeback in 2008 and have become increasingly popular ever since.
Plenty of different spin-offs now exist of the M&S confectionary – but which option reigns supreme? Leah Watki was intent on discovering the answer and carried out a taste test for her YouTube subscribers.
She ripped into a large bag of the original sweets and said: “Let’s try every single flavour of Percy Pigs”. So here’s how she got on.
Trying the original Percy Pigs recipe, Leah enthused: “Yum. As I always say, you can never go wrong with the classic. It’s a 10 out of 10.”
Following that on her tasting journey was the Squidgy Snouts range, which once more she granted full marks due to their resemblance to the original.
Leah progressed to multicoloured Party Time Percy Pig gummies, which failed to impress her as much. She said: “They’re nice, but they’re not as good, so seven out of 10.”
Regarding the Reversey Percy option, meanwhile, she confessed that although they taste “good” she wouldn’t purchase them again. She concluded: “Six out of 10.”
Leah then tucked into the assorted flavour Fruity Chews sweets. She said: “I like some of the flavours, but not all of them that are in here. And they’re very chewy, so six out of 10.”
Piglets were up next, and they clearly hit the spot. “Why is everything mini just automatically better?” Leah mused whilst popping three sweets into her mouth. “10 out of 10.”
Following that came Original Veggie Percy, which appeared chewy as Leah attempted to bite one in half. She added: “Obviously if you are a vegetarian then they’re great, but five out of 10.”
The tasting continued with Leah tearing open a bag of Percy Pig and Pals. Unimpressed though, she commented: “I’m not a fan of cola flavoured sweets. The cola flavour just takes over the whole packet. Four out of 10.”
Phizzy Pigtails were next on the list, which Leah instantly branded as “very sour”. She elaborated: “If you like sour, you will love them. But I am more of a sweet girl. Eight out of 10.”
Rounding off the taste test was You Give Me Butterflies. “They are so good,” Leah raved. “And they are so cute. 10 out of 10.”
Eagle-eyed readers may have clocked that four of the sugary snacks earned Leah’s highest rating. These were the original Percy Pigs, Piglets, Squidgy Snouts and You Give Me Butterflies.
However, she wasn’t particularly impressed by Percy Pigs and Pals or the veggie take on the beloved sweets.
