As you press on through the spooky story in Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army, you’ll notice there’s always an icon in the top corner of your screen that keeps track of the current phase of the moon. Though it’s not always going to factor into the story, there are ways to take advantage!

If Persona met Phoenix Wright…
Whether you’re using the phases of the moon in Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army to perform some vastly more powerful fusions with Victor in the Goumaden or popping over to Ginza-cho for a stop at Shin-Sekai, pay attention to the moon.
Use The Moon To Boost Your Stats And Fuse Better Devils
Throughout the game, you’ll see the phase of the moon in the top corner of your screen, but it’s important to note that this isn’t quite time-based like some games. Since the different areas of each neighborhood in the Capitol are broken into individual screens, you’ll find that the phase of the moon changes when you move between screens.
For example, if you leave Narumi Detective Agency and go towards Kounno-ya, this counts as moving between screens, which you’ll often see when the camera angle changes (as does the name of the area in another corner of the screen). If you leave Raidou stationary on a single area’s screen, time will not pass no matter how long he stands still, so you’ll need to do a little pacing to move things along.
If you need to pass time quickly, it’s best to leave and re-enter neighboring screens to keep changing the phase of the moon – this will be important during a few points in the game for story purposes.
Demonstrate Relies On The Moon
If you’re fighting alongside a Skill Order demon, you can expect them to have the Passive Skill of Demonstrate, which aligns with the phases of the moon to offer different effects. You can expect to have your HP and MAG restored, have an item in your inventory transmuted into something else (for better or worse – this can be a gamble), or even earn some cash.
Additionally, you’ll have gotten more than few demons with helpful Passive Skills in your tubes before long, and two that you ought to keep an eye out for are Scavenger and Loose Change, which allow demons to find items and money, respectively, while following Raidou around in the overworld as he explores the Capitol. You’ll receive higher payouts of yen during Full Moons in Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army, and better items from devils with Scavenger. Re-summon a familiar as needed according to the lunar phase to make the most of this perk!
Visit Shin-Sekai On New Moons To Power Up
Once you’ve gained access to Ginza-cho during the second chapter of Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army, be sure to make time to stop into Shin-Sekai, a soda parlor you’ll find on the northern side of the city, accessible directly from the streetcar and the new fast travel system. There’s plenty to do here – talk to other patrons for helpful hints on devil summoning, read the newspaper for your next beats, and more – but buying sodas to boost Raidou’s stats temporarily is the key focus here.
As soon as you can access the soda fountain, there are a few different beverages available for purchase. For the low price of a few hundred yen, you’ll be able to increase Riadou’s stats until the next full moon – and if you make your way to Shin-Sekai as soon as a new moon hits, especially if you’re about to trigger a major boss fight, it’s a good idea to stop in and see what’s on tap that will give Raidou Kuzunoha XIV the leg up in battle.
There are drinks that improve one stat specifically, with options for Strength, Magic, Vitality, and Luck all on offer, and you can buy each one for a blanket boost if you’ve got the yen to do so. As you buy more sodas, the owner will gradually grant access to special recipes, too, so the more you buy, the more you can buy.
The Goumaden Is More Prone To Fusion Accidents
Finally, you’ll find yourself more prone to experiencing accidents during the fusion process according to the lunar calendar, with both New and Full Moons increasing the chances of not getting the devil you were trying to fuse. Additionally, you’ll find that the demon you do end up with has improved stats than if you’d fused that demon using its regular fusion recipes. This is pretty common in Atlus JRPGs, so you may already be familiar coming into the game.
You’ve likely already logged a Mitama Order devil before long, but the effects of Mitama fusions are improved during the Full Moon as well, so be sure to capitalize on the free stat boost whenever you can – just beware that things may go awry, and that boost ends up going to a demon you had no intention of fusing just then.
