10
Casa Madrigal, Casita
Home Is Where The Heart Is
A simple location card, Casa Madrigal, Casita costs just one ink, and can be added to your inkwell if you need. The Casita has a respectable six willpower, so if your opponent wants to take it out will have to invest a fair amount of challenges to it to remove it.
Casa Madrigal has just one ability, Our Home, which gives you a single lore at the start of your turn so long as you have a character there. It might not be a lot of lore, but a repeatable engine turn after turn can get you to a lore victory before long.

Julieta Madriga, Excellent Cook
Healing Through Arepas
If you’re homesick for a good meal, you can always turn to Julieta Madriga, Excellent Cook, for a hearty dish. With her special casita-granted power, Julieta Madriga can heal all your wounds and fatigue.

You may have your favorite style of enchanted card, but which Lorcana set has the best of these rare cards?
Her Signature Recipe ability is a special effect that triggers when she comes into play, letting you remove two damage from any character. If you do, you’re able to draw a card. The neat thing is that if you don’t have a damaged character, you can always heal one of your opponent’s to get that extra card draw. You might not want to do this often, but if you’re hurting for a specific card, it can help in a pinch.
8
Camilo Madrigal, Family Copycat
A Little Bit Of Everything
Camilo might not be questing for much, but that’s not a problem at all for the Family Copycat card. Camilo Madrigal has a special ability called Imitate, much like his ability from the film, that lets you copy another character.
This triggers when you go to quest with Camilo, with Imitate copying that character’s lore count. You have to bounce that character back to your hand when the ability resolves, but if you pick a character like Maribel Madrigal, Family Gatherer, who we’ll see later, you can get a lot of lore out of Camilo in a short amount of time.
7
Bruno’s Return
Lost But Not Gone
A cheap and efficient action card, Bruno’s Return comes from the very end of the film, and depicts Bruno shyly returning to the family. For just two ink, Bruno’s Return lets you take a character from your discard pile and bring it back to your hand.

You then get to remove two damage from one of your characters in play, which is a solid effect for being so cheap. Bruno’s Return lets you bring back a valuable card to your strategy that might have been dealt with earlier in the game, keeping you in the game longer.
6
Mirabel Madrigal, Family Gatherer
A Lore Engine
A very powerful card that comes with a minor stipulation, Maribel Madrigal, Family Gatherer is a great card to get you to that 20 lore very quickly, though it takes a bit of work to get there. Mirabel can quest for a huge five lore, a whole 1/4th of what you need to win all at once.
The downside is that thanks to the Not Without My Family ability, you can’t actually play Mirabel without having five or more characters in play already. Getting there isn’t too terribly difficult so with a bit of planning you can power this Mirable out very quickly and get closer to victory right away.
5
We Don’t Talk About Bruno
No, No, No
If you don’t like a character in play, you don’t have to keep them around if you don’t want t,o with the We Don’t Talk About Bruno song. This five-ink song card lets you put any character back into the owner’s hand, letting you remove any problematic characters from the board.
You then get to have that player discard a card at random. If they had no cards in hand, or only one or two other cards, then they’re either guaranteed to discard the character you bounced back, or are getting rid or something equally valuable to them.
4
Isabela Madrigal
What Else Can She Do?
A fascinating quest-based character, Isabela Madrigal is an inkable Storyborn character that costs five ink on her own, and comes with a 3/4 stat line. She has evasive, which makes it so that only other characters with evasive can challenge her, keeping her safe from most oncoming attacks.
Isabela is a questing expert, with a Ladies First ability that makes it so on your turn, if no one else has quested this turn, Isabela gets to quest for three more, giving her a total of four. The downside is that other characters can’t quest after her for the rest of the turn, but so long as she’s your main quester, it’ll only take you a few turns until you win.
3
Mirabel Madrigal, Gift Of The Family
Family Support
If you’re building a Mirabel-themed deck then you’ll definitely want to be running Mirabel Madrigal, Gift of the Family, since she’s a buff for all of them. Her Saving the Miracle ability makes it sothat anytime she would quest, your other Madrigal characters all quest for one more lore this turn.
As if that wasn’t enough, Mirabel also has support, so when she does quest, you get to add her strength to another character for the turn, giving them a boost in power. She might be a bit expensive at five ink, and she’s not inkable, but netting an extra two to three lore from all your characters across the board is a great opportunity.
2
Look At This Family
Time For A Sing-A-Long
A seven-ink song better do a lot for you, given its huge commitment. Look at this Family, a great card to play late in the game. This song lets you take a peek at the top five cards of your deck, picking up to two character cards from those seven cards and adding them both to your hand.
While putting those characters into your hand is worse than having them come directly into play, it is a great way to pick and choose what your next few turns might be and to give you exactly what you need. By the time you’re playing Look at this Family, you’re likely later in the game, having thinned your deck out a bit and giving you better odds at getting something you want.
1
Mirabel Madrigal, Musically Talented
A Dual Color Wonder
Being both Amber and Amethyst, Mirabel Madrigal, Musically Talented, is a fascinating card that gives you a ton of versatility in your deck building. This iteration of Mirabel costs six ink, which can be a bit high, but does have a shift cost of four, making it a bit faster to power her power.
Once out, Mirabel has the ability Her Own Special Gift, every time you quest, you can bring back a song with a cost of three or less from your discard pile back to your hand. This ability lets you use songs over and over again, with the potential to be very good with cards like:
- Friends On The Other Side
- The Bare Necessities
- Heal What Has Been Hurt
