If your wish list is crowded with big-ticket buys that felt out of reach all year, the day to hit “checkout” has finally come.
I’ve heard many people claim that Black Friday has lost its luster over the past decade, but I’m glad to say this edition has some of the best electronics deals I’ve seen in years. The highlights include a 98-inch 4K TCL TV that’s more than $1,000 off, a DuroMax generator that’s less than half its usual price, and Blink security cameras being dirt cheap.
I sifted through tech deals at Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart, and found more than 60 of the best ones to grab before prices go back to normal.

TCL 98-Inch QLED 4K Google TV
Walmart
Among Walmart’s Black Friday deals was the single biggest markdown I found this year, which knocks $1,100 off a truly massive TCL 4K smart TV. At 98 inches, it’s about as big of a screen as you’ll find these days, and the 120 hertz refresh rate is toward the higher end of the spectrum, meaning a smooth picture.
Blink Mini 2 Security Camera 2-Pack
Target
Whether you’ve hesitated to get into smart home monitoring because of cost, or just want to add to your setup, Target has a great deal here. Get two sleek Blink HD security cameras for less than the normal price of one. Mounting hardware is included, and they can be used indoors or outdoors (just note that for outdoor use, you’ll need one of these $10 weather-resistant power adapters).

TCL 55-Inch Mini-LED 4K Google Smart TV
Walmart
TCL has the best TV markdowns of any brand I’ve seen this year, and this model has some of the best specs given the under-$400 price. It offers a 144 hertz native refresh rate, which means a super smooth picture for gaming and fast-paced video, and its mini-LED build creates a bright picture even in well-lit rooms. Grab this under-$15 deal on a studless wall hanger to keep your living room clutter-free, too.
TV Terms That Affect Price
- Refresh Rate: How many times a screen updates its image each second. The options are typically 60, 120, and 144 hertz. A higher refresh rate means a smoother picture with less blurring and a more expensive TV.
- HD vs. 4K: The number of pixels (i.e., the tiny squares that combine to create a screen image) in a screen’s picture. HD screens have 1920 by 1080 pixels, while 4K has four times the resolution, at 3840 by 2160 pixels. That results in a much more detailed picture.
- OLED, QLED, and Mini LED: The pixel-lighting technology used inside the screen. OLED is the top of the line and most expensive, creating perfect black hues for a cinema-quality picture best viewed in dark rooms; QLED and Mini LED offer higher brightness, making them great for well-lit rooms.
Best Black Friday Apple Deals
Apple Watch SE
Amazon
My wife bought this model of Apple Watch to replace her dead Fitbit, and she’s had nothing but great things to say about it. She loves the big screen, saying it’s easy to check her workout stats at a quick glance, and the “intuitive” interface. Special features include fall detection, heart-rate monitoring, and GPS. It packs a ton of tech and style for under $200.

Musicozy Wireless Sleep Headphones
amazon
Here’s another device my normally anti-tech wife swears by. Like ear pajamas, these headphones are great for people who like to fall asleep to ASMR videos or audiobooks — especially since they can be pulled down to cover your eyes. More than 14,000 Amazon shoppers have given them five-star ratings, including one who wrote, “really comfortable [for] side-sleeping,” and added that a charge will last at least two nights.
Kasa Smart Plug Ultra Mini 2-Pack
Amazon
Clint Davis, shopping editor
“These are my go-to smart plugs when I want to control a device by voice. I’ve got eight of these linked to my Google Home hub — including the two I bought during this sale — and I use them to power lamps, holiday decorations, and even an exhaust fan in my garage. They are especially nice for the Christmas tree, so I don’t have to reach through the branches to fool with the plug every day.”

What’s an Ultra-Short-Throw Projector?
Traditional projectors need a lot of “throw distance” to make a picture that’s 120 inches or bigger — typically, at least 8 to 10 feet from the screen. Ultra-short-throw projectors can make a huge picture mere inches from the screen and are great in small rooms.
BenQ GP520 4K Google TV Projector
Amazon
Finding a 4K projector under $1,000 is a rarity, and my tests with this BenQ smart projector on a 120-inch screen have left me seriously impressed. I’ve watched dozens of movies on every format from VHS to 4K Blu-rays on the projector, played video games on it, and streamed live sports, and it makes everything look great. I tested it in my garage and had no problem seeing the picture clearly, even with the door open and light flooding the room. Setup is a breeze, with auto-focus and auto-keystone settings that actually work.
NexiGo Aurora Pro Ultra-Short-Throw 4K Projector, $1,899 with coupon
Amazon
UST projectors are game changers for people who want an epic, cinematic experience without a huge living room. They are still prohibitively expensive at this stage, but this NexiGo model might be the first I’ve seen on sale under $2,000. “It has been flawless in delivering an amazing home theater experience,” wrote one Amazon shopper who also praised the build quality and easy setup.
Pro Tip for a Clutter-Free Home Theater
A few furniture companies make clever cabinets that fully hide UST projectors from view, including this Povision model that’s $400 off for Black Friday. It’s made of solid wood and has a gorgeous retro vibe that belies the still-futuristic home cinema gear it’s made to hide. Motorized drawers extend to pull your projector out at the touch of a button and retract when you’re done watching. It’s seriously cool stuff.
Best Black Friday Bluetooth Audio Deals
Marshall Acton III Bluetooth Speaker
Amazon
Marshall’s powerful Acton III speaker has never been cheaper. The English brand cleverly used its status as a rock icon in this series of Bluetooth speakers, which mimic the look of its guitar amps. The gold knobs on top let you control the volume, bass, and treble on the fly. This dad-coded pick would make a tremendous gift for garage workshops and home offices alike.
Bose QuietComfort Noise-Canceling Earbuds
Amazon
Clint Davis, shopping editor
“I’ve tested a lot of audio equipment over the years, and these Bose earbuds have the most astounding noise-canceling tech I’ve experienced so far. It can be off-putting how much these Bluetooth earbuds eliminate background noise, especially on the “Immersion” setting. I’ve worn these in a crowded grocery store and felt like I was in a library.”

Best Black Friday Home Theater Deals
Sonos Arc Ultra Soundbar
Amazon
Soundbars have always left me feeling “meh” when I watch movies on them — but not the Sonos Arc. It truly fills the room with sound, clarifying dialogue and making movies sound huge. It’s also easy to pair with your phone for streaming music. While still expensive, this is the cheapest it’s ever been.
If you can splurge, I highly recommend adding the Sonos Sub 4 Wireless Subwoofer, too, which is almost $200 off at Amazon and creates rumble-level sound across the whole room despite its sleek size. Sonos is offering its own Black Friday deal on the Arc Ultra and Sub 4 that will save you another $80 when you bundle them.

While many wireless security cameras run on batteries, this model has a built-in solar panel on top. Eufy says three hours of daily sunlight will keep it powered all day and night. It’s weatherproof and has two-way audio that lets you hear and talk to anyone near it. The feed can be watched on Amazon smart home devices, including Fire TV sets, and on Eufy’s app with no subscription. You can also get them in a four-pack for $45 apiece.

Best Black Friday Office and Laptop Deals
Why I Recommend a Mesh Wi-Fi System
“I’ve been working from home for almost a decade, and a mesh Wi-Fi system is the first thing I’d recommend. I have an older version of this TP-Link Deco system spread across my house, and I get a strong connection in every room, the garage, and even in the yard. The two-piece set is great for smaller two-story homes, while the three-piece set is better for bigger houses.” -Clint Davis, shopping editor
Kyy 15.6-Inch Portable Monitor
Amazon
I’m hoping to add a portable monitor to my WFH setup this year. The model here lets you work from anywhere in your house without losing the all-important second screen that keeps many of us glued to our desks. It gets its power from your laptop, eliminating the need for another cable and outlet socket.

Yoto Player Solar System Bundle
Amazon
My 7-year-old son got a Yoto Player this summer and has rarely gone a day without using it. This little speaker plays popular audiobooks and music albums that come on special cards, and it also connects to a live radio station and a daily kids’ podcast. It’s so easy for kids to set up and use without adult assistance. It also works as an alarm clock and nightlight, all in a beautifully designed, retro-futuristic style.
