Taylor Frankie Paul Reveals Why She’d Eliminate a Man on ‘The Bachelorette’

Taylor Frankie Paul is sharing what could earn a Bachelorette contestant a rose, and what could send them packing.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star, who on Wednesday, Sept. 10 was announced as the lead for season 22 of The Bachelorette, revealed in a new interview with Good Morning America what traits she’s looking for in a man — and what would be a dealbreaker for her on the show.

“How you treat people is my no. 1,” Taylor, 31, said of the characteristics she’s searching for in a partner. “Down to things like, someone in passing by, your neighbor or your server.”

“Another big one is like, ‘Does he have to be Mormon?’ And the answer’s ‘No,’ ” she added. “He doesn’t. I would be open to dating outside my religion and learning about new religions and trying them. That’s something I always wanted to do.”

Elsewhere during her conversation with GMA, Taylor — who shares two children, Indy, 8, and Ocean, 5, with ex-husband, Tate Paul, and a son, Ever, with ex Dakota Mortensen — emphasized that “kids are important” to her. “I’m obviously going to ask them, ‘Are you ready to be involved with three children?’ And I think everything can be workable if two people want it and they love each other,” she said.

Taylor also shared that she understands “starting a relationship on reality TV can be rocky,” but she’s seen some turn out “great.”

“I would love to have that,” she said.

As for the influencer’s “dealbreaker,” she’s not interested if a man doesn’t want to be in her social media videos, given that it’s her “livelihood,” per GMA.

Taylor announced her Bachelorette casting on a Wednesday episode of Call Her Daddy, sharing that she initially thought it was “unattainable” and that her family is “all excited.”

She also shared during her podcast appearance that the age range for potential suitors was between 27 and 43, and added that her man would have to be willing to move to Utah.

“I’m sorry if that is a make or break for them, but yeah, I am in Utah, and I have two baby daddies. I’m going nowhere,” she said. “So you will be moving to me in Utah.”

As for the “soft swinging scandal” that ultimately led to the end of her marriage to Tate, Taylor said it is “not who I am anymore.” 

“It was a very short-lived learning lesson,” she said of the scandal. “For me, don’t open your marriage because it didn’t end well… I don’t think it would ever be healthy for me, and I think when you’re really in love with someone, you’re probably not wanting to share them. So, obviously, there were lots of issues in the marriages, and I would never do that again.”

She’s also received some “positive” feedback from her SLOMW costars about her casting news.

“I think most of them are going to be happy for me and support me,” Taylor said. “I can’t speak for everyone and what they actually truly think, you know never really know. But I think we’re all kind of doing our own thing so everyone is getting their own shots, it’s not just about her, her, her.”

Taylor initially found fame on social media as part of the #MomTok community, before announcing her split from Tate in June 2022. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, also starring Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt, premiered on Hulu in 2024 before its second season launched in March.

The Bachelorette season 22 will debut on ABC in 2026, and The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives returns for season 3 on Hulu on Nov. 13, 2025.
