While numerous rare shinies take hours to track down, Pokemon Legends: Z-A also boasts easy shiny hunts to test your newly-acquired Shiny Charm out as soon as you get it. Shiny Pokemon are known for being elusive versions of their species, indicated by their unique color palette and distinct shiny sparkles.

Some of the best shiny Pokemon to center your shiny hunts around include a blend of fun, easy-to-find cuties alongside some of the most powerful Pokemon in Z-A. Whether you want to flex on your opponents in online matches or you want a team of six adorable shinies, these are the best shinies to hunt in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

Wild Zone 3

Two shiny Skiddo in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

It’s hard to pick just one Pokemon when there’s a hotspot as versatile and easy to farm as Wild Zone 3, which features a now-iconic door in the small enclosure where the Litleo sleeps. Entering this door repeatedly by holding down will reset the spawns in the Wild Zone, as well as on the roof next to it, making this an easy zone to farm for shinies.

If you have the Shiny Charm and go through the door repeatedly for about 30 minutes, you’re almost guaranteed to find at least one shiny. Of the possibilities, you’re likely to find shinies of Skiddo, Pancham, Flabebe, and Fletchinder, to name the closest few.

Fletchinder

Speaking of Fletchinder, you can find this Pokemon in the first Wild Zone in the game, making it one of the earliest shinies you can encounter in Z-A.

Whether you want to farm in Wild Zone One or Three, this Pokemon is an easy test of your Shiny Charm and is a low-pressure shiny, given its appearance at low levels, contributing to its high catch rate.

Beldum

A shiny Beldum glimmers in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

Beldum is arguably one of the hardest shinies to find in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, but it’s still worth your time and effort, given that Metagross is one of the best Steel-type Pokemon in the game and can be a major part of almost any team.

Once you get to the Lysandre Cafe, you have access to this shiny farm, which requires you to first spawn the Beldum in the purple room on the west side of the map. With the Beldum spawns active, teleport to the beginning of the area via flying. Once at the start, teleport between the yellow room on the bottom right and the other room in the middle of the area to reset the spawns and hunt for this shiny.

Skarmory

A Skarmory flying in the air above Wild Zone 17 in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

Skarmory is a difficult shiny to hunt since it only has one spawn point in Wild Zone 17, and it typically flies high above the area before you can reach it. If that wasn’t troublesome enough, there’s an entire pride of Pyroar that makes their home below the Steel and Flying-type Pokemon.

On the plus side, this makes this area a great place to focus on farming for Skarmory and enjoy the accidental Pyrorar shinies along the way. It may get tiresome after the first few, but we have to maintain our sanity while shiny hunting for Skarmory somehow.

Pumpkaboo

A group of Pumpkaboo including an Alpha in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

Pumpkaboo is a great Pokemon that can perfectly fit into your favorite seasonal shiny teams. While this Pokemon’s seasonal applicability is typically around Autumn, there’s always time to appreciate some adorably spooky pumpkins that come in all different sizes.

Luckily, Wild Zone 15 makes this a great shiny hunt thanks to the group of Pumpkaboo that make their home in the center of the area. The variety of spawn points makes this shiny hunt slightly less painful than some of the others in the game, and offers the chance at multiple shiny spawns.

Delibird

A Delibird flying across the snow in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

Delibird makes its home in Wild Zone 12 along with several other Ice-type Pokemon, and, like Pumpkaboo, is particularly relevant to catch during the winter holiday period. This Pokemon’s thematic connection to gift-giving couldn’t be more closely associated with the holidays we celebrate in the real world.

If you want to build your seasonal team before you have to wait until next year, there’s still time to get your shiny Delibird in all of its royal purple glory.

Riolu

Riolu about to kick in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

Riolu is fairly easy to shiny hunt from the onset if you’re willing to travel to the northwestern section of Lumiose City, where you’ll spot this Pokemon on the rooftops between Wild Zones 13 and 18. It’s pretty easy to spot this Pokemon’s shiny form, so it’s exciting to see it pop up from a distance.

Lucario is an immensely powerful Fighting-type Pokemon who you’ll want to use on your team, so having a shiny version of a meta-relevant Pokemon is always a nice bonus.

Any Fossil

Looking at the Sail Fossil in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

Fossil Pokemon might be annoying to get shiny, but their unique circumstances make them a great choice to hunt for at any point during your Z-A playthrough. Since fossil shiny rates are not changed by getting the Shiny Charm, you may as well try to get a shiny fossil before any other Pokemon.

Sadly, you’ll need to build up a big bankroll to farm several fossils at once, but you should aim to farm one Pokemon at a time to streamline the fossil awakening process at the Pokemon Research Lab.
