Ahhhh Messy vent art time. You know right before I saw the news story about Renee, I saw a different story about a man who was threatening his family with a gun, actively shooting at law enforcement, and posing a danger to everyone around him. You know what happened to him? He was arrested, using non-lethal force. Completely different situation I know, but man. He's alive and she's the one who was shot and killed. What a world we live in. I'm probably going to regret posting this very quickly. I'm sick of seeing people in my feed saying her death was justified, but no matter how I look at the situation, I don't see it. I can't. She's dead. She didn't deserve to be shot multiple times in front of her wife and dog. She was a human like you or me and whatever choices she made that put her in that situation, none of them meant that she deserved to die. I have a very strong distrust for anyone who says otherwise, because why is it so much easier for people to blame a dead woman than to admit that this 'officer' fucked up and was a little too quick to pull the trigger (and then step aside and pull it again from a different angle)? submitted by /u/MelontineComics |
