We all hear common sayings every day that we may think little of, but can you guess them when hidden in a brainteaser? These three fun puzzles have got people’s minds working overtime
If you want to get your mind ticking, there is no better way to spark your thinking cap than a brainteaser – and these three puzzles have left people baffled. Can you solve them?
We all know the importance of exercising our bodies, but setting aside time to work on our mind is just as important. Brainteasers can boost your cognitive function, and improve your perception skills. Brainteasers can also help improve your memory and concentration skills, as well as help reduce stress and boost your mood by releasing dopamine.
While you may already have a pretty good idea of how your mind works under pressure, a fun quiz could well offer confirmation. People have been left gobsmacked by three brainteasers in which the answers are common saying.
Popular viral quiz master, The Ezz show on TikTok, shared a video of three, fun puzzles. He shared a video, which has raked in over 20 million views, of two women trying to solve them. People insisted that their guesses are “better than then answers”.

First up, Ezz showed them a picture a giant, capital A, with the word ‘movement’ written in small writing on the side of the letter. One of the players immediately suggested it means “a big moment”. “A big moment was an excellent guess,” the presenter said.
The players also guessed “a moment in time”, “a moment out of time”, a “side moment”, “on a moment”, “on a moments notice”. The host said he “likes the way” that the pair were thinking. Offering a clue, Ezz said: “You guys are doing great. Say, your son or daughter told you for the first time in your life that they love you…what would that maybe mean?”
The guesser, appearing confused, suggested “a close moment”, but it was not the right answering. The host followed up with, “what are those two doing?”, which lead the pair to answer “a touching moment”, which is the correct answer. A touching moment often refers to a particular point in time that brings out strong emotions and connection.
The next brainteaser, one of the two players guessed straight away. It comes after they were shown an image of history written in large, three times in a row. “History repeats itself,” stated the player, who nailed the answer. This saying is often used when people tend to make similar mistakes and experience similar events repeatedly over time. People often use the saying when historical events become prevalent in the modern world.
The final puzzle, which Ezz warned would “get a little harder”, showed the word ‘collar’ written on a card with ‘249 degrees’ written below it. “I don’t think the young kids are saying this,” Ezz offered as a clue.
One of the players, who did not manage to get the first two puzzles, said: “Hot under the collar”, and got it right. Cambridge Dictionary states that this saying is used to refer to someone who is embarrassed or angry about something. For example, if someone made a mistake and you called them out on it, they might get rather ‘hot under the collar’.
