Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection looks like a mightily impressive homage to the entire series, celebrating its rich history by giving fans access to as many of the older games as it possibly can. However, any game franchise that has been around for as long as Mortal Kombat has had bumps in the road, and it wouldn’t really be a tribute to MK’s entire history if it didn’t acknowledge them.

We already know there are a bunch of games included in the Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection, but two more titles were recently revealed to be in the game thanks to some footage from Gamescom that has been making the rounds on social media. Shared on Twitter by Wario64, the footage reveals that two of MK’s worst-ever games will be included in the collection – Mythologies: Sub-Zero and Special Forces.

Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection Includes Mythologies: Sub-Zero And Special Forces

If you’ve never played either of these titles, you’re not missing out on too much, but they are interesting pieces of Mortal Kombat history. For starters, neither of them are traditional fighting games, as Mythologies: Sub-Zero is more of a side-scrolling action adventure game that focuses on Sub-Zero. No prizes for guessing that one.

On the other hand, Special Forces is a 3D action game that is widely regarded as not only the worst Mortal Kombat game of all time, but it routinely features in ‘Worst Game of All Time’ lists. In fact, it’s currently sitting at an incredibly impressive score of 28 on Metacritic at the moment, though that is only after seven reviews.

Both of the titles are pretty dire, but they are important pieces of Mortal Kombat history. For example, Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero was actually the first game ever in the series to not be a fighting game, while Special Forces was the first ever Mortal Kombat 3D spinoff. They both have their place in history, and they’ll now forever be enshrined in Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection, for better or worse.
