Meet Longchamp‘s large Le Pliage tote. It may be a popular trend on TikTok right now, but it’s actually been around (and loved) for over 30 years! If you aren’t already familiar – this bag was launched in 1993 and is named after the French verb for folding.
It comes in multiple sizes to fit your needs, and while I have collected a few of them over the years, the spaciousness of the large has made it my everyday favorite. I’ve personally had mine for over 15 years!
It has accompanied me to high school, college, post-grad office jobs, and even on international vacations, and is still in great condition.
Plus, it’s a totally timeless bag that’s spacious enough for daily life without feeling heavy. Made of a sturdy but lightweight nylon with leather details, it comfortably fits my laptop, lunch, and work day essentials without feeling too heavy. On the weekends, I can throw in whatever I need to hit the gym, run errands, see a movie, or spend time with friends.
One of my favorite features is how easy this bag is to travel with! As the name suggests (in French), it folds down into a compact rectangle, with the front leather flap snapping it closed. Once you reach your destination, just unsnap and you’re ready to go!
