  • Lego’s new Mario Kart is available now, exclusively at the Lego Store.
  • It’s 1,972 pieces and costs $169.99, making it one of the biggest and most expensive Mario sets to date.
  • If you buy the set between now and May 23, you’ll get a free Baby Astronaut set to go with it.

More than two months after its reveal, Lego’s first full-size Mario Kart set is finally here. Not only can you add the new Lego Mario Kart to your collection starting today, but if you buy it sooner rather than later, you will get a smaller non-Nintendo Lego set thrown in for free.

Following in the trackmarks of the debuting smaller Mario Kart Lego sets released to kick off 2025, a larger Lego recreation of Mario in a standard kart was revealed on March 10, otherwise known as Mario Day. That set is now available to buy exclusively at the Lego Store through the link in the box below and costs $169.99.

The Simpsons Is Teaming Up With Lego Again For Its First Set Since 2015

The Simpsons and Lego are together again for the first time in ten years.

The price and the 1972 piece count make this new Mario Kart set the second biggest and second most expensive Mario Lego set to date. The only one that has it beat is The Mighty Bowser set, which is almost 1,000 pieces bigger and costs an additional $100. Whether you’re interested in the older Bowser set or the brand new Mario Kart one, you can get a second set for no additional cost if you buy them now.

You Can Now Buy The New Nintendo-Themed Set That Was Revealed For Mario Day

Do It Before May 23, And You’ll Get A Baby Astronaut Thrown In For Free

That’s because any purchases you make from the Lego Store between now and May 23, 2025, that come to a total of $150 or more will qualify for a free Up-Scaled Baby Astronaut set. Since the Mario Kart set costs more than $150 all by itself, the Baby Astronaut will be automatically added to your bag along with the Mario Kart set.

Double-check that the Baby Astronaut set is there before you check out and pay. It’s only available while supplies last, and if you check out without it, you probably won’t be able to retrieve it at a later date.

Unfortunately, unlike previous big Lego releases connected to famous IP like The Lord of the Rings, the gift with purchase being given away with the Mario Kart set isn’t Nintendo-themed. The Baby Astronaut set is a worthwhile free gift, though, even if it isn’t related to the set you’ve come to buy. It’s 250 pieces and is valued at $19.99, but probably won’t be available to buy separately once the promotion is over.

If you add a Ninjago set, regardless of size, to your bag along with the Mario Kart, you will qualify for a second free set, again available until May 23. The Mini Ninja Combo Mech set is also a gift with purchase for anyone spending $40 or more, the only other caveat being there needs to be something connected to Ninjago among your purchases.

Mario Kart – Mario & Standard Kart

Lego’s Mario Kart set is 1,972 pieces, making it one of Nintendo’s biggest Lego sets to date. It turns Mario and his red, white, and blue standard kart into Lego, and it comes with a stand for display purposes. Both Mario and the kart are fully posable, so you can choose how to display the set.
