Zelda fans can save big on the awesome official manga adaptations of some of Link’s most memorable adventures. Amazon has The Legend of Zelda Manga Box Set discounted to only $50.86 (was $105), which is one of the best prices we’ve seen all year for this 10-volume, nearly 2,000-page set. Alternatively, you can spend about $20 more to get the fancy collectible version of the manga. The Legendary Edition Box Set is up for grabs for $72 (was $125). This set includes all five of the premium Legendary Editions, each of which compiles two volumes of the manga, and an awesome display case based on the treasure chests Link finds in the game series.

As mentioned, the original Zelda manga received 10 volumes throughout its run. Each Legendary Edition book contains two volumes in one. The manga puts its own spin on six games in Nintendo’s iconic series, including Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, and Oracle of Ages/Seasons, The Minish Cap, Phantom Hourglass, and Four Swords.
All told, the Legendary Edition spans 1,910 pages across the five books. These deluxe editions offer noticeable improvements compared to the standard trade paperback editions of the original Zelda manga. All five books have exclusive covers and a few full-color art pieces. The build quality and presentation is noticeably better thanks to the use of higher-quality paper, thicker covers, and more durable bindings.
All five Legendary Editions are also sold on their own for $20 each. Prices tend to move on the individual volumes, but right now each book is priced between $12 and $18. If you bought all five Legendary Editions, you’d spend $76 instead of $72. That said, you’d miss out on the exclusive poster and treasure chest display/storage box.

If you simply want to read and own the complete Legend of Zelda manga series, the standard edition collection has the same stories presented in a more budget-friendly package. You’ll get 1,968 pages of Link’s adventures spread across 10 trade paperback volumes. With the more than 50% discount attached, you’re only paying about five bucks per book, which is a really awesome deal.
The paperback box set comes with a slipcase and a foldout poster. Each volume is also sold separately with a retail price of $12. You can save a couple bucks on many of them, but even with these discounts, all 10 volumes would cost you just north of $100 when bought individually.

The original 10-volume Zelda manga and the follow-up series set in the worlds of Twilight Princess were written and illustrated by Akira Himekawa, the pen name for the mangaka duo who work under the aliases of A. Honda and S. Nagano. The 2,040-page Twilight Princess Complete Manga Box Set released last fall. Fans can get the 11-volume collection for $88 (was $130) at Amazon.
All three Zelda Manga Box Sets:
The reimagining of Twilight Princess is darker and more complex than the original series. The first series is suitable for elementary and middle school readers, whereas Twilight Princess is more of a young adult series. This isn’t all that surprising considering Twilight Princess is the only mainline entry in the game series to receive a T for Teen rating from the ESRB.
Zelda fans should also check out the official graphic novel adaptation of A Link to the Past. This adaptation originally ran in Nintendo Power magazine in the early ’90s and offers a wildly different interpretation of the SNES classic.

And if you’re interested in reading more comic books and manga based on Nintendo franchises, several other notable franchises have received print adaptations over the years. Super Mario Adventures, a collection of comics that also originally appeared in Nintendo Power, is on sale for only $9.47 (was $17) at Amazon. Sadly, only a small chunk of the long-running Mario manga, Super Mario-kun, has been translated to English. Super Mario Manga Mania, which is essentially a sampler platter of the manga, is available for $10.81 (was $12) at Amazon.
Naturally, Pokemon is the Nintendo franchise with the largest library of manga thanks to the long-running Pokemon Adventures series, but other popular IPs such as Animal Crossing, Kirby, and Splatoon have also been adapted into long-running series:
