Professor Xueqin Jiang dubbed ‘China’s Nostradamus’ correctly predicted Donald Trump’s 2024 election victory and the US-Iran war – and now his prediction about how the war will end is going viral
A man being dubbed ‘China’s Nostradamus’ has issued a startling prediction regarding the current US-Iran conflict in the Middle East – and it’s not the outcome most observers would anticipate.
A Chinese-Canadian educator and presenter of a widely-followed YouTube channel, Professor Xueqin Jiang is becoming an internet sensation for the three forecasts he delivered back in 2024 – two of which have already materialised with remarkable precision.
In May 2024, Jiang delivered three predictions during his lectures at the high school in China where he works, with footage uploaded to his well-known YouTube channel, Predictive History, which presently boasts 1.87 million subscribers.
A Yale College graduate, Jiang stated he anticipated Donald Trump would triumph in the 2024 election and reclaim power, successfully clinching a second stint in the White House. Prediction number one – spot on.
He accompanied his forecast with another unsettling projection: “If he [Trump] does become president in a second term, there will be a very strong likelihood that the United States will go to war with Iran.” Prediction number two – also absolutely accurate.
Jiang outlined that one of the principal factors behind why the United States would enter into conflict with Iran would be driven by Israel’s interests, something we are witnessing unfold in real-time as the combined US-Israel Operation Epic Fury continues.
The third chilling prediction from 2024
So what constituted Jiang’s third and final 2024 forecast regarding potential US-Iran hostilities? An American defeat.
Examining hypothetical warfare scenarios and speculative situations, Jiang outlined why any US assault on Iran would spell disaster for the Superpower, stating: “The third big prediction is that the United States will lose this war, which will forever change the global order.”
Standing firmly behind his trio of predictions throughout multiple videos uploaded to his platform, the academic contended that Iran’s demographics and topography would render any extended American occupation of its territory impossible, as the Middle Eastern nation’s stretched logistics networks, formidable internal opposition, and rugged landscape would rapidly transform any early battlefield victories into devastating strategic collapse, reports the Mirror US.
Jiang forecast in one clip on his platform: “If this war [US-Iran] were to happen, there’s absolutely no way America can win this war.”
The history and philosophy academic drew comparisons between a prospective US invasion of Iran and the Sicilian Expedition spanning 415 to 413 BC, which witnessed Athens mounting an enormous military operation against Sparta, Syracuse and Corinth attempting to seize and control Sicily – a conflict that ultimately concluded in disaster for the Athenians.
The science behind the forecasts
Teaching History and Philosophy from 2022 at Moonshot Academy Beijing, the professor formulates his predictions by scrutinising recurring geopolitical incentives, historic patterns, and Game Theory.
His YouTube channel’s description elucidates the foundation of his theories: “In his Foundation series, Isaac Asimov proposed that the science of ‘psycho-history’ will help humanity understand its past, predict its future, and control its present. This channel is dedicated to exploring if ‘psycho-history’ is indeed possible.”
Explaining why Iran also has a desire for conflict with the US, Professor Jiang elaborated in one of his 2024 lectures that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (also known as the Iranian Revolutionary Guards or IRGC) “want war with the United States because they’re very angry about US interference in Iran.”
Jiang stated: “We can suspect that a second Trump term war with Iran will be a major priority. Basically the United States is looking for a reason and Iran wants to give them a reason and that’s why I think war between the United States and Iran is very likely in the next two to four years.”
Backing up his claims in 2026
Professor Jiang recently featured on the US news series Breaking Points with Krystal and Saagar, discussing his views on how events would unfold.
In footage uploaded to YouTube on March 2, the academic stated: “Given my analysis of how the war is progressing, I think that Iran has many more advantages over the United States. The reality is, right now, it’s a war of attrition between the United States and Iran, and Iranians have been preparing 20 years for this conflict.”
He added: “They’ve had many practice runs. Last June was a 12-day war when the Iranians were able to examine and analyse the strike capacities of both the Israelis and the Americans. And they have had a lot of time, eight months, to prepare fully for this new attack.”
The ex-journalist suggested Iran’s allied forces – Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis – “have been able to really grasp the American mentality – and now they have a pretty good strategy of how to weaken and ultimately destroy the American empire”.
The academic said: “What the Iranians are doing is waging war against the entire global economy.”
Jiang proceeded to detail how Iran is “striking the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries and going after their critical energy infrastructures” while describing how a drone strike by Iran on a GCC nation’s desalination facility could leave millions without water within weeks.
Alarmingly, accounts of a drone attack on a desalination installation in Bahrain have emerged in recent days.
The academic also outlined how Iran has effectively sealed off the Strait of Hormuz which “supplies 90% of food for the GCC countries”.
Addressing whether the US will deploy ground troops into Iran, the professor predicted: “We’ve never had a president in history where you were able to regime change from the air alone.
“You need ground troops. And so unfortunately, what’s going to happen over the next few months is that pressure will build on America to send ground troops especially, from the GCC countries and from Israel, which are being pounded right now by the Iranians.”
Whether ‘China’s Nostradamus’ will prove accurate remains uncertain as tensions continue to escalate across the Middle East. Nevertheless, Professor Jiang’s stark warnings have undoubtedly established him as one of the most precise and widely-discussed geopolitical analysts of our time.
