Daniel Dale over at CNN has a whole bunch of recent Trump lies including that one about how he’s brought grocery prices way, way down. And here are some of the dubious things he’s said in defense of his dear, wealthy friend Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. FactCheck.org has more about Trump spinning the facts around the Crown Prince.
And here, also from Mr. Dale, is an interesting collection of Fact Checks. They work like this: Trump says something that’s blatantly untrue, his aides try to correct the record or walk back his assertions…and Trump goes on lying about whatever it is.
Trump is claiming we — every American who isn’t super-wealthy — will soon receive $2000 checks with his signature on them because his tariffs are bringing in so much dough. Ed Kilgore explains why that’s not likely to happen.
The Associated Press notes that there’s no proof that each time he bombs some unidentifiable “drug-smuggling” boat, he’s saving 25,000 American lives.
Mr. Kilgore also has this article up about how Trump’s increasing unpopularity is decreasing the chances of other Republicans winning elections or re-elections. I’ve been saying that a big thing that will bring Trump crashing down — and it’s already happening — is Republicans who’ll do absolutely anything for the man except (emphasis added) lose elections. The end of Richard Nixon in the Watergate scandal was men like Barry Goldwater and Hugh Scott telling him how many G.O.P. elected officials would be turning on him to save their jobs.
But to be fair to Donald Trump — in a way he’s never been to anyone — here’s something about lies about him. Snopes looks at how many fake images are circulating of Donald and underage females.
