Hello! My name is Meg and this is a call for participants for my University of Manchester PhD project exploring how UK women make sense of their lived experiences of so-called ''Deepfake Pornography'' or what this project terms as 'Non – Consensual Synthetic Intimate Material' (NSIM). Get in touch if you:
What would I be asked to do if I took part? I am hoping to talk with women who have had experiences with so-called 'Deepfake Pornography' in a one-to-one 2-hour interview where we discuss up to 10 photographs you will provide based on themes such as your life before, during and after the experience, your thoughts and feelings about the experience, how the experience impacted you, what support you have received and what support you think you'd like. You can either:
IMPORTANT: Photographs are not of the impacted individual, other people or any nude/deepfake content. Will I be reimbursed? You will be given a voucher for your time. Please note: You must have been 18 when you had your experience, experienced 'Deepfake Pornography' over six months ago, self-identify as a woman and live in the UK. For further information about the study, please DM u/OlogyCrimin. I will also share with you my university email if you prefer. This study has been approved by the University of Manchester Ethics Committee 1 (UREC 1). All of our correspondence is strictly confidential and if you do decide to take part, you will be given a Participant Information Sheet which explains how your interviews and photographs will be anonymised, stored securely and protected throughout the project. submitted by /u/OlogyCrimin |
