  • She later revealed that her hit singles “WAP” and “Up” will serve as the album’s first singles
  • The rapper released “WAP” in 2020, and “Up” the following year

Cardi B is revealing what fans can expect from her sophomore album.

On Wednesday, June 25, the rapper responded to speculation that two of her popular singles, “WAP” and “Up,” will be featured on the upcoming album, Am I the Drama?, which drops on Friday, Sept. 19.

“This will be the last and only time I’m gonna address this,” the Grammy winner, 32, began in her message via X. “WAP and Up are two of my biggest songs, my fans have been asking me to put them on an album.”

She added that “people search” for the singles “all the time” on her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, which was released in 2018, adding, “They deserve a home.”

Cardi B continued, “I let haters make me not submit WAP for the Grammy’s and at this point I’m giving my fans what they want.”

She pointed out that those songs will not contribute to the success of her upcoming album’s first week sales, “so what are yall even crying about??? Do ya say anything when all these artist pull out all their little tricks and ponies to sell out??? Exactly….Now let them eat cake. Go cry about it!!!” she concluded.

Fans were excited to learn that the two singles will be featured on the forthcoming album.

However, a few also expressed their hope that she would include other singles like 2016’s “Finesse,” 2018 single “Money,” 2019’s “Press,” as well as “Bongos,” which was released in 2023, and “Enough,” which debuted last year.

“WAP” is the rapper’s first collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion. Their hit song made history as the first female rap collaboration to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It then went on to spend four weeks at the top of the chart.

Meanwhile, “Up” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a week. It also scored the rapper a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Performance at the 2022 Grammys.

Along with “WAP” and “Up,” Cardi B released “Outside,” her third single from Am I the Drama? on Friday, June 20, after debuting it at a Spotify event at Cannes Lions two days prior.

She also celebrated the release with a video on Instagram Stories. “If y’all wouldn’t have asked for it, I wouldn’t have put it out,” Cardi said in the video posted on Thursday, June 19. “I made this song a few months ago when I was very, very angry. I had to change some bars because I was angry, honey.”

In March, she discussed the forthcoming album during a live X Spaces conversation and specifically addressed the “features” on her new music. “The features on my album are really good,” she began, noting that she won’t have “a lot of features.”

“I’m working with artists, some that I have worked [with] before and some that I haven’t worked [with] before,” she said.

“And it’s such a vibe,” Cardi said. “I could tell you this – I’m 100 percent confident with this album. I just don’t think what I got is out there.”
