- Costco is introducing a new blended beverage to its food court menu, just in time for summer

- Reviews from fans on social media called the drink “tart” yet “refreshing”
Costco is getting ready for summer by adding a brand-new frosty drink to their food court menu.
Members of the wholesale club took to social media to share photos of the chain’s new food court menu item — a frozen strawberry lemonade drink.
According to the item’s promotional poster, which is appearing in Costco locations across the U.S., the store’s frozen strawberry lemonade costs $2.99 and is made with real fruit. The poster also states that the item contains 250 calories and doesn’t use any artificial flavors or colors.
Social media users, including an Instagram account that goes by Costco Hot Finds, have been sharing their reviews of the item online. According to the page, the pink beverage has small chunks of strawberry blended in, and the account’s owner called it a “refreshing” summery beverage that was “so good.”

“Had one,” one commenter on Instagram said. “It’s a bit tart so be prepared! But refreshing.”
Costco did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Other fans shared their thoughts on the new drink on Reddit’s r/Costco forum, with several Costco members describing the drink as having a “tart” flavor.
“Had one today!” one review reads. “Very tasty, we were surprised by how many strawberries it had.”
Some critics, though wrote online that they worried that Costco’s food items were lowering in quality.
“Cheaper to make by a lot. More water, less fruit,” one user wrote.
“Downward spiral of cheaper ingredients,” another person agreed. “It was berry smoothie, then strawberry banana smoothie, now strawberry lemonade. Definitely not worth $3. The food court really has gone downhill a lot over the past 5 years. Gone are the gelato, and the plump chicken bakes. Sad.”

Costco has had a rotating menu of blended fruit and coffee drinks over the years, including the fan-favorite berry smoothie as well as the strawberry banana smoothie. The chain often makes changes to its food court menu, but a few classics, such as the $1.50 hot dog-soda combo, have remained for a long time.
Last month, the wholesale club announced that the Combo Pizza was returning, but with a twist. The new menu item will be a Combo Calzone, a new take on the Combo Pizza that is stuffed with pepperoni, sausage, cheese, onions, peppers, olives and mushrooms, according to Southern Living.
