Ninja Gaiden is having a pretty big year in 2025, as we’ve already had the excellent Ninja Gaiden 2 remake, which was shadow dropped by Xbox at the start of the year. During that time, we also got the announcement that Ninja Gaiden 4 would be coming at some point this year, though a proper release date wasn’t announced at the time. Instead, Xbox horribly teased us with a Fall 2025 release window.
Now that we’re over half-way into the year, and we haven’t had any news since the start of the year, this summer’s Xbox Games Showcase felt like the perfect venue for a re-reveal and that all-elusive release date. That’s exactly what happened this weekend, as Xbox has revealed that Ninja Gaiden 4 is launching October 21 later this year.
In the trailer, we see both Ryu Hayabusa and the new protagonist Yakumo, as they hack and slash though a bunch of enemies with a nice variety of weapons. We also appear to see a bunch of boss enemies too, which will undoubtedly have us throwing our controllers across the room.
