At 16, there is so much you still don’t know about the world. At the time, you feel like you’re basically a grown-up, begging your parents to treat you like one and trying to act like a cool guy in front of your friends. You think you know everything at the age of 16, but in reality, you’re still clueless about almost everything outside of your small bubble of school, friends and family.
Flying at the airport can be confusing for anyone, especially a teenager. You have to carry only a certain amount of liquids in specific bottles, you have to arrive a few hours early, and you have to wander the airport trying to find the correct gate. But this kid was also unaware of the more specific rules around air travel. Like when the snack cart is rolling down the aisle, you can’t get up to use the bathroom or stretch your legs, because you’re blocked in. No one really tells you that rule, you just have to learn it in real time. At least when this teen made a mistake, a group of adults played a lighthearted prank on them to lock in the memory of what they did wrong.
