A month from this Friday, a lot of folks will be converging on the Anaheim Convention Center for this year’s WonderCon. Did I mention I’m a Special Guest this year? I’m a Special Guest this year. I was also a Special Guest last year and quite a few WonderCons before that, dating back to when it was held in San Francisco and before that, in other cities up north. So I don’t see what’s so special about me but I’ll be there all three days hosting seven or eight panels including a Cartoon Voices Panel, a Jack Kirby Panel and one on How to Write Animated Cartoons.
I shall continue to stand on my Constitutional Right to not sit behind a table all day writing my name on things. It’s just about the only one the current Executive Branch of our nation’s government hasn’t shredded so I will make use of it as long as I can. But if you sit through any of my panels, have not-too-many things I did you want autographed and can catch me when I’m not rushing to the next panel or the Men’s Room, I shall gladly sign gratis.
Hey, here’s something neat that WonderCon has that most conventions don’t have: Food Trucks. Outside, if you can fight your way through the mob of cosplayers, you can get something pretty good to eat and there’s an amazingly diverse set of choices. Here’s a preview of what’ll be parked outside the convention hall. Might be worth attending even if you can’t stand comic books, cartoons, Star Trek, people dressed like furry mammals, William Shatner, etc.
