This husband probably didn’t mean anything by his requests for snacks, but he’s also not being very kind towards his wife. She’s doing so much work already, and he’s devaluing just how much effort goes into baking things.
She’s right — he should go shop for all the ingredients, come home, preheat the oven, mix everything together, put it on a cookie tray, bake it, put everything in a cute container, and then wash all the dishes and surfaces. I mean, if it’s so effortless to do that, he can go ahead and do it!
I will say that making box cookies and cakes is actually really easy. It’s usually like, the box mix, an egg or 2, some oil, and some water — mix and pop it in the oven. Basic household staples, really. The husband basically just chose the wrongest time possible to request this.
Luckily, he’s about to learn how easy it is to whip up a batch of box cookies to take to his office. His wife certainly won’t be doing it — by that point, hopefully she’ll be resting somewhere with her feet up while he wrangles the children and bakes his own cookies.
I think to make up for his little blunder, though, he should do something nice for his wife — maybe he could even get the kids involved. She’s probably sick of cookies by now, but he and the kids could make her a nice dinner, maybe buy her some flowers, or make her some cute crafts. No wife wants a man-child husband who’s basically her 5th child, so let’s hope this guy steps up and acts like a caring father and husband.
