Even though it has its faults, Mario Kart World will be the game that carries the Nintendo Switch 2 for most, if not all, of its time as Nintendo’s primary console. That’s why I’m hopeful that the three Mario Kart World plushes revealed over the weekend aren’t the only ones we’re going to get.
Images of the plushes based on core Mario characters sitting in their standard karts from Mario Kart World appear to have been shared early by retailer Together Plus. Even though you don’t seem to be able to click on the store links for the plushes anymore, the site revealed first looks at Mario, Yoshi, and Toad Mario Kart World plushes, along with the suggestion that they’ll be available to buy from March 2026.
Just in time for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. How about that?

The plushes have been created by Sanei Bokei, the manufacturer behind most of the high-quality Nintendo and Pokemon plushes you will have seen over the years. Although the images of the Mario Kart World plushes don’t appear to have been shared officially, Twitter account sanei_NLG has noted since the accidental reveal that their release has now been confirmed.
The plushes appear to be characters from Sanei’s All Star collection sewn to plush versions of karts from Mario Kart World. Seemingly one of the first times the karts themselves have been given the plush treatment, you can tell that the toys are modeled after the karts from the newest game in the series, as all three of them have fuel tanks on the side.
The plush reveal has been welcomed by Mario Kart fans, but there are some who have highlighted the limited options. Mario, Yoshi, and Toad are surefire picks to kick off any Mario Kart collection, but you’d have thought Luigi and Peach would be in there, too. That said, we might not be looking at the full collection. There could be Peach and Luigi plushes waiting in the wings, the images of which didn’t leak alongside these core three.
Even if they’re not a part of the initial rollout, there might be plans to turn more characters from the World roster into Mario Kart plushes. I’m hoping that these toys sell well enough that Nintendo and Sanei eventually decide to get real weird with it. What I wouldn’t give to have a Mario Kart Cow plush, or Dolphin riding a Dolphin Dasher bike plush. Those guys are easier to unlock now if you don’t already have them thanks to a recent update, by the way.
