Can you recall the worst sleepover you ever went to? These people sure can, and they’ve got some crazy stories to tell.
An ideal sleepover allows the kids to have a great night doing whatever they want (within reason). Maybe they plan to watch movies, eat lots of snacks, call their other friends, play games, or maybe ride their bikes. The parents should ideally lay low and let the kids do as they please, because as you’ll read below, when the parents get too involved, it really dampens the mood of the whole party. Teens can certainly get rowdy when left to their own devices, but if Dad is camped outside their bedroom door ready to shush them every time they talk, that’s going to ensure that no one sleeps over a second time.
Worse, though, are the opposite: parents who care far too little about their children’s well-being. Letting the kids fend for themselves in a house full of trash and roaches is obviously terrible, and it means that no one is ever going to want to spend time there. Some friends sleep at your house, others at their house, and some friends just don’t ever get to sleep over again after that first encounter.
