Mifune

Soul Eater

Mifune using his Infinite One-Sword Style in Soul Eater.

Mifune is a samurai bodyguard and the guardian of the witch, Angela Leone. He is a quiet and reserved character unless someone messes with him, and earns his wrath. He believes in the Path of a Warrior but his disregard for human life as a part of various criminal organizations shows that he doesn’t really walk the path.

Mifune is a famed swordsman, known as the God of Sword, but that isn’t his only specialty. The character has a mighty soul which grants him better physical abilities and reflexes than normal humans. His only weakness is kids and when in a fight against one, he holds back to avoid harming them. However, he never loses a fight twice, even if against a kid.

He is a gentleman demon of sorts who has a particular aversion to rude people but also doesn’t directly resort to violence. The villain prefers when opponents surrender to him because of his fear rather than after fighting him.

The demon is significantly powerful and can use the mysterious jet-black power of darkness, as well as wings for flying. Monspeet serves Derieri as an attendant and falls for her but is unable to voice his affection because of his commandment. He starts to open up to humans when one saves his and Derieri’s lives, though unfortunately, that’s short-lived.

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations

To find a more suitable vessel, the celestial used Jigen to create an organization called Kara. As the leader of Kara, Jigen’s body was modified, giving him supernatural powers and significant strength.

As a vessel for Isshiki, he could also use the celestial’s powers. He could bring forth black rods to drain his opponents’ chakra or even take on the powerful Naruto, forcing the former protagonist to resort to a completely new form. Jigen was also able to use Kāma to amplify his powers even more and completely decimate opponents.

Yu-Gi-Oh

A still image of Seto Kaiba in Yu-Gi-Oh.

Seto Kaiba is one of the main characters with so many shades that it’s easy to confuse him with an antagonist. While he isn’t exactly a hero, the owner of Kaiba Corp does help Yugi and his friends when necessary or when he gets something out of it. He starts on bad terms with the main heroes, and you think he may be a worthy foe against them, but viewers warm up to him quickly.

Kaiba’s style is cool, but he is also significantly arrogant, which adds to his anti-hero troupe. He does have saving grace in being emphatic to other orphans, as he is one himself. The antihero has moments of selflessness which are rare but a treat when he does something without thinking about himself. Even after so many years, Kaiba is remembered fondly by fans thanks to his iconic arrogance.
