Seriously, I cannot get enough of these pants. At this price point, I expect the very best, and I can honestly say that they’ve exceeded my expectations. The million pockets (okay, eight) are super useful for storing my phone and little doodads as I hike, climb, and go about my outdoor life. I love them for hiking. They’re breathable without feeling (or sounding) too “swishy,” like some hiking-specific pants, and the high waist sits perfectly above my hips, so wearing them with a pack is A-plus. From the front, they look like normal button-up pants, and the back has an elastic waist that ensures comfort and has yet to stretch out, even after tons of washes and drying on the hottest setting. (I know, I know, it’s bad for my clothes, but I do it, okay?)
I felt nervous rock climbing in them for the first time. CERTAINLY, they’d fail the no-snag test on the wall (most pants do, and it’s pretty reasonable). But nope! They look fresh as the new-fallen snow, even on the knees. And that’s after extensive wear at the gym AND climbing outside. Do you know how much butt-scooting I did scrambling in Red Rocks? A ton. And even the butt still looks normal. Hikerkind, consider me a fan for life!
