We all have our bad days… but that’s no excuse for treating retail workers with anything less than respect.

Some people act like Karens all the time, while others only flip out when they’re pushed to the brink. The former category — the person who’s always in Karen mode — tends to think they’re not doing anything wrong. They’re always in the right (in their eyes), and they think that they can do no wrong. It’s always the employee who messed up. They’ll tell stories about how they screamed at a worker who didn’t give them fresh enough food, or who couldn’t seat them quickly enough at a restaurant, as if this is the most amusing story in the world. To them, every worker is the same: just a lowly employee who needs to be bossed around in order for them to get their job. There’s probably no fixing this type of Karen, who gets their kicks from putting the poor workers “in their place.”

But, as the people below will tell you, sometimes you just get pushed a little too far, and find yourself totally freaking out on the workers. In some cases a delivery guy demanded a tip when they really didn’t deserve one in the first place, or a cashier with a bad attitude tried to refuse the customer service when they weren’t even doing anything wrong to begin with. And one person flipped out on a car salesman who tried to upcharge them… and they yelled so loud that it was a warning sign to all the other potential buyers in the building!

Up next, read about workers who quit their bad jobs on day 1: “I’m outta here!”
