Dining at a restaurant is all fun and games until someone picks a bug out of their salad! I know, I know — that supposedly means the salad is just fresh from the fields. But still, the restaurant is supposed to wash all those bugs down the drain while they prep the dish in advance, not to mention that the person who preps the salad for the customer has a second chance to catch that mistake before it leaves the kitchen.

Sometimes you have an experience with a restaurant that’s so bad it makes you avoid going there ever again. This could be little things, like being treated impolitely by the servers. Or maybe you pull a long, long hair out of your burger, only to realize it is certainly not yours. It could be that the restaurant overcharged you for an egg sandwich by 2 full dollars, and when you pointed this out on the menu, the cashier just argued with you and wouldn’t change the price, and you had to consider, “Should I just walk out without my sandwich to avoid paying so much money to these impolite folks?” But then you realize that it’s raining and you have a heavy suitcase with you and there are no other restaurants open this late so you silently pay for your meal, fuming, and vowing to simply never eat there ever again. And the egg sandwich was just mid! That’s highly specific because it happened to me, but it could happen to any of you, too!

The people below shared the mildly infuriating things that happened to them while eating at buffets, diners, and other restaurants, and it’s an interesting look into the lives of fellow foodies.

Next, read about the Philadelphia restaurant owner who took to the internet to question why his restaurant is failing, only for the pile-on to begin as the internet told him the many, many reasons why: “My restaurant can’t survive much longer.”
