Modern Family may have ended a long time ago, but it’s a show people love to binge watch over and over again. Its humor and characters, and their idiosyncrasies make it a delight to watch every time.

But as funny as the show is, it is also deeply emotional and intelligent, which truly tugs at my heartstrings. Here are some of the best, most emotional moments in Modern Family we all think about often:

When Manny leaves a letter to Gloria before leaving for Colombia, asking to take care of Jay.

Phil’s iconic speech about Haley when she sets off with an older man.

When Claire acknowledges the academic pressure on Alex, which leads to her breaking down.

When Phil creates a makeshift bar for Jay so he could continue his tradition of toasting the soldiers he fought alongside and lost in the war.

When Alex finds out her grandmother left her the lighter she found the day she met Frank.

When Phil finds out that Haley was sexually active, and comes to terms with it.

When Jay walks Mitchell down the aisle, dissipating the ongoing fight between the two.
